So government ministers are meeting today to discuss how to get the right vehicles on the right roads (i.e. how to avoid lorrys getting stuck down coutry lanes etc etc)...

I can't work out whether it annoys me so much because it is a complete waste of tax payers money or because the sat nav itself is a useless piece of engineering.

Ideas/comments anyone??

While I agree with you that it is indeed a complete waste of tax payers money, I'm not sure you can call the sat nav a useless piece of engineering.

It generally gets you form A to B as long as you use it properly and follow the instructions. I would imagine it's more down to the incompetencies of the user that people end up in stupid places, not the device.

Now if Steve Jobs had only invented/reinvented the sat nav, I'm sure we wouldn't even be in this predicament...

Anyone who gets into a car not knowing where the hell they're going is an idiot....and anyone without basic map reading capabilities shouldn't be allowed a vehicle in the first place.

Shame this meeting didn't come sooner. My trusty sat nav decided to die on me in the middle of central London last weekend. Nightmare.
